Studied Illustration, Printmaking and Photography.

Became a freelance Graphic Artist creating designs/artwork for logos, marketing, publications

and event merchandising.

In 1995 entered the Video Game Industry as an UI/UX Designer/Digital Artist/3D Artist.

Currently freelancing as an UI/UX Designer/Digital Artist/Game Designer/Graphic Artist/Game Consultant.

Freelance Digital Artist and Game/App Designer producing art and design work for all forms of digital media. Specializing in creating interfaces for games and applications on mobile devices (iOS, Android). I design and create storyboards, flow charts, mockups, wire frames and produce art assets for interfaces.

 

Daglow Entertainment, Sausailto, CA  March 2011 to July 2011     Senior Artist

Created artwork for a Facebook Social Network Game (unpublished).

Created rendered 3D artwork and converted it to in-game art using the FliSO Editor and Flash.

Developed in-game texture tiles and was responsible for producing the game’s map.

Mentored nine junior artists by sharing with them what have learned throughout my career.

 

Kuju America, Burlingame, CA   January 2008 to January 2009      Senior Background Artist

Designed the interface and produced the interface artwork, 3D in-game shapes/textures for the Nintendo Wii game Circus Games. Created and tested the new game play features for the game’s levels.    

 

SurvivorSoft, Austin, TX   March 2001 to December 2007      Art Director, Lead Artist, Game Designer

SurvivorSoft develops Game and Life Style applications for wireless devices. My responsibilities were to design game and application content. I also designed and created artwork the for the interfaces, game play items, logos, animations, manuals and marketing ads.

Applications include:

•  Agony, Game Design/Artwork. Agony is a puzzle game that was awarded Staff Pick from Handango.com. and

     Editor’s Pick from O2.com. Agony is now available for the iPhone as “Fleck”.

•  TiVoMeals, designed application for ordering custom made pizzas over TiVo.

•  Juggler, Game Design and Artwork. Juggler is a puzzle game designed for PDAs.

•  Hurricane Tracker, Artwork and Application Design. Hurricane tracker for Smartphones.

•  @Sat, Created Artwork and Interface. Application that tracks specific man made objects orbiting in space.

         

Eidos Interactive/Domark Software, San Francisco, CA   Sept.1995 to Dec.2000    

•  Tomb Raider: The Lost Artifact    Lead Artist/Game Designer

Designed and created 3D Shapes and their textures, Environmental Textures, Interface Art and Marketing Art. Responsible for fine tuning the game’s level designs.

    

•  Tomb Raider Level Editor Manual    Coauthor of Manual/Tutorial for the Tomb Raider Level Editor.

Produced and designed the User Manual and Tutorials using PageMaker and Acrobat. Designed and created a tutorial level so the users could learn the skills needed to build a Tomb Raider level.

 

•  Commandos: Behind Enemy Lines and Commandos: Beyond the Call of Duty    Strategy Consultant

I was given the task of seeing that the game play strategy worked properly and was enjoyable yet challenging to player. Coordinated manual information as well as wrote strategy articles for game magazines.

Technical editor the Prima Strategy Guide for Commandos: Beyond the Call of Duty.

    

•  Confirmed Kill    Senior Lead Artist/Level Designer

Responsible for Interface Design/Artwork and coordinating the artwork with the Interface Programmers.

Also produced terrain tile artwork, developed level designs and provided marketing department with promotional artwork.

    

  Flying Nightmares 2    Art Director/3D Modeler/Interface Design and Artist/Level Designer

Supervised and contributed to the game’s art assets. Oversaw the production and coordination of 3D shapes and textures, terrain textures, interface art, bitmap cockpits. Also worked on the Game/Level Design Team creating missions and the game’s maps.

This is a postcard I made after the Loma Prieta Earthquake ( 7.1  Oct. 17, 1989 )

Originally I made it just to let my family and friends know I was OK.

I made a few extra postcards to give to my friends and it took off.

I ended up selling over 82,000 postcards and raised a lot of money for the Red Cross.

A copy of the postcard is now in the Museum of San Francisco History.
